After doing everything as instructed and clicking F4 my main asset take is called "Group 01" instead of the name I input during Notes Processor dialogue window. Why is this happening?

Great tutorial, though I have hit a snag. The region item won't shorten in length when I hit F5. For example, I have the region setup for an explosion, but decide I want to shorten the tail. I select the region item hit F5 to update it but it does nothing. Any ideas? A work around is to ungroup the region item, shorten it, regroup it and then F5 so it extends to the end of the grouped regions. Not ideal! Hope that makes sense… 🙂

Some interesting work flows here thanks 🙂 one thing worth mentioning is that if you created midi items on your folder track instead of empty items. You could use the "selected media items" export option in render window with the wildcard "$item" instead. You could still name those midi items fast using the sws "label processor" action and adjust the item ends. It saves all the region stuff but you might have to change the script to work on midi items if you wanted to use that script still. The other thing I recommend is "subprojects" which as amazing for using "audio containers" and making a whole sound effect project act as if it was one audio item. Very good for fast iteration and reusing sounds. You can even use the "open a copy of item in editor" right click menu action to make a duplicate that you can use for iterations and options. 🙂 worth looking into.

Great tutorial – another option i like is using the SWS/IX label processor, as HeDa Regions&Markers also renames based on item take name, and you have the same enumeration options without the need for comments or additional scripts.

Also the Region/Marker manager has a render matrix column with some added benefits like moving your play cursor to the region you have selected. It makes navigating a project with many regions easier.

You can also set up a toggle for the HeDa script by using SWS/S&M focus main window after, since initiating the scrip changes your window focus so you can't use your Reaper shortcuts. That way you don't have to keep clicking the button. Cheers.

    Hey Reaper Blog/Chris.
May I ask, what is that colour toolbar you have in your main window? I've seen a script that looks similar. But had no idea about a toolbar version? Would love to know what it is.

    thanks!

Thanks you very much for this tutorial, very intersting of you put this scripts all together 🙂
You could actually share the custom action as custom action file. Indeed, because most of these actions are downloadable from ReaPack extension, they will have the same command ID no matter your computer 😛
    Cheers !

This was really informative. Please can we have a series on Reaper in terms of asset management for games and live performance? Reaper is such a flexible tool in those areas.

Umm. Why not to freeze folder track without tail? It will render clips in size folder receive signal. Dunno about naming (if it's not customizable I'd freeze and than render separately with custom numerated names)
