[AMSTRAD CPC] Slap Fight – Longplay & Review (aka Alcon)

Longplay and review for “Slap Fight” (aka “Alcon”) on the Amstrad CPC!

Arcade conversion time! As Ocean (on their Imagine label) takes on the task of converting the popular vertically scrolling shmup coin-op to the humble Amstrad CPC!

This is quite timely because at the time of making this video a remake of Slap Fight on the Amstrad is nearly complete, and it’s looking rather special!

So how will this early arcade licence from Ocean play? Let’s jump in the SW475 star fighter and find out!

  1. Like these videos. But i think the intro is way too long. When i have seen it so many times im just always constantly skipping over it. Just extra work.

  2. I'm fairly sure Taito is meant to be pronounced TIE-toe, but I always think of Tayto (a popular brand of crisps in Northern Ireland, where I come from) and pronounce it TAY-toe – in a Northern Irish accent, of course! I find TAY-toe easier to pronounce than TIE-toe anyway.

  3. Had and played this back in the day.Not a bad port on the CPC however is a bit slow and the playing area is little.Years before I could play the arcade version.Hope you can review the remake real soon!.
    Thanks.
